Imagine a box around a time. 'に' can point to this whole box, like 'summer vacation' or 'the weekend'. It shows when an event happens inside that time box.

The particle "ni" shows an exact time. "Goro" means "around" that time. So "ni" is for 7:00 sharp. "Goro" is for about 7:00. "Made" means "by" a time. It is a deadline. "Ni" says when something happens. "Made" says when it must be done.

Don't use this when the time word already tells you when. For example, say "I saw a movie yesterday." Not "I saw a movie *on* yesterday."

Use this when you want to show a contrast. It can also add emphasis. For example, you might say "at 10 o'clock" to mean "exactly at 10 o'clock, not another time."
