    This is different from "kamo." "Kamo" just means "maybe." This is also different from "darou." "Darou" is a stronger guess. It is also different from "jan." "Jan" points out something you both know. This form asks if your idea is right.

    Watch out: When you use this with a "na-adjective" or a noun, you need to add "na" before "n janai?". For example, say "byouki nan janai?" (maybe you are sick?). Do not say "byouki janai?". That just asks "Are you not sick?".

    Use this when you want to say something gently. It helps you share your ideas without being too strong. It makes it easy for others to agree or disagree.
