    You pick 'お' for Japanese words. You pick 'ご' for words from China. There are a few exceptions.

For example, "お戻りになった" means someone returned. "お戻りになっている" means someone is back. It is like saying they are in the state of being back.

    Don't use this when you talk about yourself. For example, you would not say '私は食べていらっしゃいます' (I am eating). This form is only for people you respect.
