Imagine a clock ticking. '時々' is like the tick-tock sound. It means something happens, then stops, then happens again, like a gentle rhythm.

時々 (tokidoki) means 'sometimes'. It is more often than たまに (tamani - rarely). It is less often than よく (yoku - often). You use it with positive sentences. You do not use it with negative sentences like あまり (amari - not often) or 全然 (zenzen - not at all).

Use this when you want to say something happens sometimes. Put it at the start to show it's about the whole sentence. Put it before a verb to show it's about that action.
