This grammar makes the thing it follows super important. It says this thing is a must-have. It is like saying, 'without this, nothing can happen.'

This is like "~なくしては" and "~を抜きにしては". They all mean "without something". "~なくしては" is a bit more formal. But "~はさておき" is different. It means to put something aside. You use it to talk about something else. It does not say that the first thing is needed for the second.

Don't use this when the next part is positive. For example, you cannot say "なしには できます" (can do it). The part after must be negative.

    Less formal alternatives(1)

    〜なくしては

This means something cannot happen without another important thing. It shows that one thing is absolutely needed for the other.

    ない形

This is how you make a verb negative. It means "do not" or "will not." It is the casual way to say 〜ません.

    〜は (topic)

は (wa) tells you what the sentence is about. It points to the main subject or idea.

    〜に (indirect object)

This word shows who gets something. It shows who an action or feeling is for.
