Think of it like building with LEGOs. You take the 'doing' block off a word. Then you add a new, very polite 'doing' block. You don't add two 'doing' blocks together.

This is much more polite than "ご + V-stem + します". It shows more respect to the other person. You use it in formal business or customer service.

Watch out: Use 'ご' with words from Chinese. For example, 'ご連絡' or 'ご説明'. Use 'お' with Japanese words. For example, 'お持ちします'. Do not mix them up. Do not say 'お連絡' or 'ご持ちします'.

Don't use this when talking about what other people do. For example, don't say "先生がご説明いたします" (sensei ga go-setsumei itashimasu). This makes them sound humble. You only use it for yourself. Or for people in your group. For others, use different polite words.
