This form is for い-adjectives only. For な-adjectives and nouns, use "〜で" instead. For verbs, use the normal "〜て" form.

Watch out: Do not use 「〜くて」 with な-adjectives or nouns. For example, 「元気くて」 and 「学生くて」 are wrong. The correct forms are 「元気で」 and 「学生で」. To make 「〜くて」, take off the 「い」 from an い-adjective. Then add 「くて」.

Use this when you want to say why something happened. It shows the first part caused the second part. For example, 'My head hurt, so I took medicine.' The headache made you take medicine.
