    This is different from 〜そうです. That one is polite. This is also different from 〜とのことです. That one is for formal talks. This is much more casual. It is also different from 〜によると. That one names the person who said it. This one often does not.

    Don't use this when you write formal letters. Don't use it when you talk to your boss. It is too casual. It can sound rude. Only use it with friends and family.

    Use this when you want to share something you heard. You do not need to say "I heard" or "they said." The word "tte" shows you are reporting information.
