This form makes your speech very polite. It is like wearing a business suit for your words. You use it to sound professional, especially at work.

This is different from 〜ています. Both show something is happening now. But 〜ております is more humble and formal. It is used in business. It is not like 〜て参ります. That is for actions of coming or going.

Don't use this when talking about others. For example, don't say "お客様がお待ちしております" (The customer is waiting). This phrase is only for yourself or your group. Use a different polite form for customers or people above you.
